Link the gas pedal to the carburetor's throttle with the Pioneer Carburetor Accelerator Cable CA-8508. It is a replacement for the 1985-1986 Chevrolet C10, Chevrolet C20 and Chevrolet K10, the 1985 Chevrolet K20, the 1985-1986 GMC C1500, GMC C2500 and GMC K1500, and the 1985 GMC K2500.
The accelerator cable mechanically connects the pedal to the carburetor's throttle linkage. Pressing the pedal pulls the cable to open the throttle, and releasing it lets the throttle close. Pioneer builds its cables as a quality replacement alternative.
- Built to OE specs: Manufactured to original-equipment specifications.
- Steel inner cable: A durable steel core carries the pull from the pedal to the throttle.
- Polymer outer housing: Shields the inner cable from corrosion and abrasion.
- Application-dependent hardware: Depending on the application, Pioneer cables may come with common brackets, grommets and ends.
A pedal that sticks or returns slowly, a frayed or kinked cable, excess slack, or a throttle that won't respond are signs the accelerator cable may need replacing. Other throttle components can cause the same symptoms, so diagnose the cause first. If the cable is at fault, CA-8508 replaces it.
