Connect your accelerator pedal to the carburetor throttle linkage with the Pioneer Automotive Industries Carburetor Accelerator Cable CA-8571. It is a direct-fit replacement for the 1972 and 1974-1979 Volkswagen Beetle and the 1974-1979 Volkswagen Super Beetle. See the "Vehicles it fits" section for engine details.
When you press the pedal, the accelerator cable pulls the carburetor throttle open. When you release the pedal, it lets the throttle close again. Pioneer offers its cables as a high-quality replacement alternative, manufactured to OE specs.
- Built to OE specs: manufactured to original-equipment specifications as a replacement cable.
- Steel inner cable: a durable steel core carries pedal movement to the throttle.
- Polymer outer housing: helps protect the inner cable from corrosion and abrasion.
Signs this part may need replacing: a stiff or sticking pedal, a throttle that is slow to return, a frayed or kinked cable, or no throttle response from the pedal. If a worn or broken accelerator cable is the cause, this cable replaces it. Inspect the throttle linkage while you are there.
