Description

Keep pedal input reaching the carburetor smoothly with the Pioneer Automotive Industries Carburetor Accelerator Cable CA-8585. It fits many vehicles, among them the 1980-1992 Volkswagen Jetta, the 1984-1987 Volkswagen Scirocco and the 1985-1993 Volkswagen Cabriolet; see the "Vehicles it fits" section for the full list.

The accelerator cable links the accelerator pedal to the carburetor throttle linkage. It carries pedal movement so the throttle opens as you press the pedal and closes as you release it. Pioneer offers this cable as a high-quality replacement alternative.

Built to OE specs: manufactured to original-equipment specifications.
Steel inner cable: a durable steel core carries pedal movement to the throttle.
Polymer outer housing: protects the cable from corrosion and abrasion.
Hardware where applicable: Pioneer cables often include common brackets, grommets and ends when the application calls for them.

Signs this part may need replacing include a sticking or binding pedal, a throttle that is slow to return, a stiff pedal feel, or a frayed, kinked or stretched cable. See the "Vehicles it fits" section for engine details for each vehicle.
