Put a fresh drive link behind your speedometer with the Pioneer Automotive Industries Speedometer Cable CA-3092. It fits many vehicles, among them the 1980-1983 Volkswagen Jetta, 1984-1987 Audi 4000 Quattro and 1983-1985 Audi Quattro. See the "Vehicles it fits" section for the full list and engine details.
A speedometer cable is the rotating link that carries motion from the drive source to the speedometer head so the gauge can display road speed. Pioneer builds its cables as a high-quality replacement alternative, made to OE specs.
- Steel inner cable: a durable steel core carries the drive rotation.
- Polymer outer housing: surrounds the inner cable to help protect it from corrosion and abrasion.
- Made to OE specs: produced to original-equipment specifications for the listed applications.
- Common hardware: Pioneer cables often come with common brackets, grommets and ends, where applicable.
Signs this part may need replacing: a speedometer needle that bounces or wavers, a gauge that reads zero while the car is moving, or a ticking or whirring noise from behind the dash. A faulty gauge or drive gear can cause the same signs, so diagnose the cause before replacing. If a worn or broken cable is the cause, CA-3092 replaces it.
