Give your speedometer a fresh drive link with the Pioneer Speedometer Cable CA-3222, a replacement cable that carries rotation to the speedometer. It is a direct-fit replacement for the 1993-1998 Ford Taurus and the 1993-1998 Mercury Sable. See the "Vehicles it fits" section for engine-specific details.
A speedometer cable is the mechanical link that drives the speedometer. Its inner core spins inside a protective outer housing and transmits rotational motion to the gauge. Pioneer offers this cable as a high-quality replacement alternative, manufactured to OE specs.
- Steel inner cable: A durable steel core carries the rotation that drives the speedometer.
- Polymer outer housing: Protects the inner cable from corrosion and abrasion.
- Built to OE specs: Manufactured to original-equipment specifications.
- Hardware where applicable: Depending on the application, Pioneer cables often include common brackets, grommets and ends.
Signs a speedometer cable may need replacing include a bouncing or erratic needle, a speedometer that reads zero while the vehicle is moving, or a ticking or whirring noise from behind the instrument panel. Other components can cause the same symptoms, so diagnose the cause before replacing. If a worn or broken cable is the cause, CA-3222 replaces it.
