This is a set for the rear axle. For even, balanced braking it's best practice to service both axles' pads as matched sets and to inspect the rotors while the wheels are off. Worn or contaminated pads can cause squealing, reduced braking bite, or a pulsing pedal — if the rear pads are the cause, this set replaces them.
