Remy 99617 starter for the 1999-2001 Dodge Ram 1500 V6 3.9L or V8 5.2L, the 1999-2003 Ram 1500 V8 5.9L, the 2002-2008 Ram 1500 V6 3.7L or V8 4.7L and other vehicles spins the engine over so it can start.
A worn starter can show up as slow cranking, a single click with no cranking, or a grinding noise when you turn the key. A weak battery or a corroded cable end gives similar symptoms, so with the engine off, look over the battery terminals and the starter cable connections for corrosion or looseness before you replace the starter.
The 1999 Dodge Durango V6 3.9L, the 1999-2000 Durango V8 5.2L and the 1999-2003 Durango V8 5.9L take this starter as well, along with many other vehicles. If your vehicle isn't named here, open the "Vehicles it fits" section and look up your exact model and engine. The 2002-2008 Ram 1500 V8 4.7L takes one starter.
