Description

Help smooth out rough roads with the Rancho shock absorber RS55371, a front shock from the RS5000X line built around Rancho's exclusive Cross Tuned technology. This rebound valving system works with an advanced compression phase and is designed to improve overall handling and performance on and off road. It fits many trucks and SUVs, among them the 1999-2006 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, the 1999-2006 GMC Sierra 1500 and the 2000-2006 Chevrolet Tahoe. Progressive Engagement Valving: custom-tuned for each vehicle to help reduce initial impacts at low speeds and minimize a rough ride.
Compression Control Valve: also tuned for each vehicle, it regulates fluid transfer to absorb impacts without disc flutter and help maintain shock motion control.
Strong and durable: a 16mm nitro-carburized piston rod resists scuffs and corrosion. Double-welded loops reinforce the stress areas, and the shock also has a 35mm sintered iron piston for structural integrity and a polyvinyl protective boot.
Twin-tube body and fade control: a large 2 1/4-inch twin-tube body filled with all-weather fluid allows cooler operation and withstands internal temperatures of -40 to 248°F. Nitrogen gas pressurized to 150 PSI limits air-to-oil mixing to reduce damping fade and foaming.

A polyurethane rebound bumper and rubber bushings help absorb ride harshness. The fluon-banded piston helps the shock respond to changing road conditions. A low-friction, self-lubricating seal retains gas and oil for quicker rebound and smoother compression, and the application-specific piston's expanded area gives greater control of shock motion. This Rancho absorber is backed by Rancho's Limited Lifetime Warranty. Replacing both front shocks together is recommended for balanced handling.
