Smooth out every trail run and highway mile with the Rancho RS5000X Suspension Shock Absorber (RS55240), a rear-position damper that drops in as a direct-fit Jeep Wrangler shock absorber for the 1997-2006 Jeep TJ and 1997-2006 Jeep Wrangler. See the "Vehicles it fits" section for engine-level fitment. If your worn rear shocks are causing excess body motion or a harsh ride, this Rancho shock absorber replaces them.

Cross Tuned technology: an exclusive rebound valving system and advanced compression phase designed to improve overall on- and off-road handling and performance.
Progressive Engagement Valving: custom-tuned for each vehicle to help reduce initial impacts at low speeds and minimize a rough ride.
Strong and durable build: 16mm nitro-carburized piston rod to resist scuffs and corrosion, double-welded loops at stress areas, a 35mm sintered iron piston and a polyvinyl protective boot.
All-weather performance: large twin-tube body filled with all-weather fluid, rated to withstand internal temperatures of -40 to 248°F, and nitrogen gas pressurized to 150 PSI to reduce damping fade and foaming.

A polyurethane rebound bumper and rubber bushings help absorb ride harshness, and it's backed by Rancho's Limited Lifetime Warranty.
