Rancho shock absorber built to firm up ride control on and off the trail — the Rancho RS5000X Suspension Shock Absorber (RS55239) is a front-position damper that installs as a direct-fit replacement on the 1984-2001 Jeep Cherokee, 1986-1992 Jeep Comanche, 1993-2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 1997-2006 Jeep Wrangler and 1997-2006 Jeep TJ. At its core is Rancho's exclusive Cross Tuned technology — a rebound valving system and advanced compression phase engineered to improve overall handling and performance on and off road.

• Strong and durable: 16mm nitro-carburized piston rod resists scuffs and corrosion, with double-welded loops at stress areas, a 35mm sintered iron piston and a polyvinyl protective boot.
• Handles temperature extremes: large 2 1/4-inch twin-tube body filled with all-weather fluid for cooler operation and internal temperatures from -40 to 248°F.
• Reduces fade: nitrogen gas pressurized to 150 PSI to minimize air-to-oil mixing that can cause damping fade and foaming.
• Smoother ride: polyurethane rebound bumper, rubber bushings and a fluon-banded piston help absorb harshness, while Progressive Engagement Valving is custom-tuned per vehicle to soften low-speed impacts.
