Smooth out the ride and regain control with the Rancho RS5000X shock absorber (RS55297), a rear-position damper built around Rancho's exclusive Cross Tuned technology. It installs as a direct-fit replacement for the listed trucks and SUVs — including the 1999-2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, 1999-2018 GMC Sierra 1500, 2002-2008 Dodge Ram 1500, 2002-2006 Chevrolet Avalanche 2500, and 2003-2009 Hummer H2. Cross Tuned technology: an exclusive rebound valving system and advanced compression phase designed to improve overall handling and performance on and off road.
Progressive Engagement Valving: custom-tuned for each vehicle to help reduce initial impacts at low speeds and minimize a rough ride.
Strong and durable: 16 mm nitro-carburized piston rod to resist scuffs and corrosion, double-welded loops at stress areas, a 35 mm sintered iron piston, and a polyvinyl protective boot.
Temperature control: large twin-tube body filled with all-weather fluid rated to withstand internal temperatures of -40 to 248°F, and nitrogen gas pressurized to 150 PSI to help reduce damping fade and foaming.

A polyurethane rebound bumper, rubber bushings, and a fluon-banded piston help absorb harshness, while the Compression Control Valve and low-friction self-lubricating seal support consistent motion control. If worn rear shocks are behind excessive bounce or poor ride control, this unit replaces them. Sold individually; replacing both sides as a pair is recommended for balanced ride quality.
