This is a rear suspension shock designed for vehicles originally equipped with monotube shock absorbers, and it drops in as a direct-fit replacement for the 1996-2002 Mercedes-Benz E320, 1996-1999 E300, 1997 E420, 1998-2002 E430, and 1999-2001 E55 AMG. Monotube damping: Full displaced valving adjusts to road extremes while a free-floating dividing piston separates the fluid from the high-pressure gas charge, helping reduce shock fade and aeration.
