The condenser is where the A/C system gives up its heat. Hot, high-pressure refrigerant vapor from the compressor passes through the condenser core, releases heat to the outside air and condenses into a liquid before moving on through the system. Signs a condenser may need replacing include warm or weak airflow from the vents, oily refrigerant residue on the core, and bent or damaged fins. Because other A/C components can cause similar symptoms, diagnose the system first. If a failed condenser is the cause, the 7-4993 replaces it.
