Help keep a strong spark reaching every cylinder with the SPECTRA PREMIUM ignition coil, part number C-922. It is a direct-fit replacement for the 1990-1993 Dodge Ram 50 and the 1990-1996 Mitsubishi Mighty Max with the L4-2.4L engine, and for the 1990 Eagle Vista with the L4-2.0L engine.
An ignition coil acts as a step-up transformer. It converts the vehicle's low-voltage battery current into the high voltage needed to fire the spark plugs. If a failed coil is causing misfires or hard starting, installing the C-922 replaces it.
Fitment:
Signs an ignition coil may need replacing: engine misfires, hard starting, a rough idle, hesitation under acceleration, stalling, or an illuminated check engine light. Spark plugs, ignition wiring or fuel delivery problems can cause the same symptoms. Diagnose the ignition system before you replace the coil.
Which vehicles does part number C-922 fit?
It is listed for the 1990-1993 Dodge Ram 50 and the 1990-1996 Mitsubishi Mighty Max with the L4-2.4L engine, and for the 1990 Eagle Vista with the L4-2.0L engine.
What does an ignition coil do?
It steps the vehicle's low battery voltage up to the high voltage the spark plugs need. That voltage fires the plugs and ignites the air-fuel mixture in the cylinders.
How many ignition coils do these vehicles need?
Each listed application uses one coil. This listing is for one C-922.
What are signs of a failing ignition coil?
Common signs include misfires, hard starting, a rough idle, hesitation, stalling or a check engine light. Other faults can cause the same symptoms, so diagnose the ignition system before replacing the coil.
Is part number C-922 the same as C922?
Yes. C-922 and C922 are two ways of writing the same Spectra Premium part number.
