Hold your liftgate open smoothly and keep it from dropping with the Stabilus Liftgate Lift Support 3B-163242, a gas-charged lift support with dynamic speed control that installs as a direct-fit replacement on the 2007-2013 Acura MDX (see the Buyer's Guide tab for engine details). This is a Lift-O-Mat by Stabilus unit measuring 22.60 inches, engineered to support the weight of the rear glass or hatch and provide controlled, cushioned motion through the opening cycle.

Dynamic damping speed control: a longitudinal groove (velocity manifold) pressed into the tube wall lets gas flow around the piston for a fluid opening motion with no bouncing or jerking during cycling.
Controlled stop: the groove profile narrows toward the end of the stroke for a gentle, controlled stop with minimal impact.
