Give the circuits behind your A/C compressor clutch, HVAC blower motor, fog lights and back-up lights a new switching relay with the Standard Ignition RY-465 (also written RY465). It is a direct-fit replacement for the listed applications, including the 1998-2019 Toyota Corolla, 1999 and 2001-2020 Toyota Camry, 2001-2009 and 2013-2019 Toyota RAV4, 2007-2019 Lexus ES350, 2015-2021 Acura TLX and 2018-2021 Honda Accord. Engine fitment on those models is listed as All.
A relay is an electrically operated switch. A small control current energizes its coil, which closes contacts that carry the higher current a clutch coil, motor or lamp needs. Standard Ignition catalogs RY-465 for four uses:
- A/C clutch relay: switches power to the A/C compressor clutch circuit.
- HVAC blower motor relay: switches power to the blower motor circuit.
- Fog light relay: switches power to the fog light circuit.
- Back-up light relay: switches power to the back-up light circuit.
The quantity per application varies. Some applications list two relays, including certain 2006 and 2012-2015 Toyota Camry entries.
Signs this relay may need replacing include a compressor clutch, blower, fog light or back-up light that won't switch on, works intermittently, or stays on. A fuse, switch or wiring fault can cause the same symptoms, so diagnose the circuit before you replace the relay.
