The distributor cap covers the distributor and routes spark from the rotor to each spark plug wire terminal in turn. Signs a cap may need replacing include cracks, carbon tracks or corroded terminals inside the cap, along with misfires, hard starting or rough running. Other ignition parts can cause the same symptoms, so diagnose the cause before replacing. If a worn or damaged cap is the cause, JH-269 replaces it.
