Standard Ignition Distributor Rotor P/N:DR-317
Standard Motor Products
Route high-voltage spark from the coil to each plug in turn with the Standard Ignition Distributor Rotor DR-306. It is a direct-fit replacement for many vehicles, including the 1953-1956 Buick Roadmaster, 1951-1955 Cadillac Series 62 and 1951-1954 Oldsmobile 98. See the "Vehicles it fits" section for the full list and engine details.
The rotor sits on top of the distributor shaft and turns with it. As it turns, it carries the coil's high-voltage charge to each spark plug terminal inside the distributor cap in sequence.
Standard Ignition's distributor caps and rotors draw on decades of research and development. Signs a distributor rotor may need replacing include engine misfires, hard starting, rough running, and a burned, worn or carbon-tracked rotor tip. If a worn rotor is causing your problem, DR-306 replaces it. Diagnose the ignition system before replacing parts.

This part cross-references / interchanges with the following part numbers:
What does a distributor rotor do?
It turns with the distributor shaft and carries high voltage from the coil to each spark plug terminal inside the distributor cap, one after another in firing order.
What vehicles does the Standard Ignition DR-306 fit?
It fits many classic Buick, Cadillac, Oldsmobile, Packard and Studebaker models, including the 1953-1956 Buick Roadmaster. See the "Vehicles it fits" section for the full list.
Why does this rotor use brass segments?
Standard Ignition uses solid brass segments in its distributor rotors for better conductivity and higher-voltage spark to the plugs.
How does the alkyd material help?
The high-grade dielectric-strength alkyd resists dirt sticking to it. This decreases carbon tracking for extended service life.
What are signs a distributor rotor may need replacing?
Misfires, hard starting, rough running, or a burned or carbon-tracked rotor tip may be signs. Diagnose the ignition system first; if the rotor is at fault, DR-306 replaces it.
