Standard Ignition Distributor Rotor P/N:JR-122
Send high-voltage spark to each cylinder in firing order with the Standard Ignition Distributor Rotor JR-162. It is a direct-fit replacement for many vehicles, among them the 1991-1996 Ford Escort, 1990-1993 Ford Festiva and 1989-1992 Ford Probe. See the "Vehicles it fits" section for the full list and engine-specific applications.
The rotor sits on the distributor shaft and turns with it. As it sweeps past each terminal in the distributor cap, it carries ignition energy from the cap brush out to that terminal. Shaft retention clips help it fit properly on the distributor shaft.
Signs a rotor may need replacing include misfires, hard starting or a no-start, rough running, and a burned, eroded or cracked rotor tip seen during inspection. If a worn rotor is the cause, this part replaces it. Inspect the distributor cap while it is off.

What does the JR-162 distributor rotor do?
It rides on the distributor shaft and carries high-voltage ignition energy from the distributor cap brush to each cap terminal as it turns. This sends spark to the cylinders in firing order.
Which vehicles does the JR-162 fit?
It is listed for the 1991-1996 Ford Escort, 1990-1993 Ford Festiva and 1989-1992 Ford Probe, among other models. See the "Vehicles it fits" section for the full list and engines.
What is the contact segment made of?
The segment is solid brass, which resists pitting and erosion. It carries a noise-suppressing coating that helps prevent interference with the radio and other electronic circuits.
How do I know if my rotor needs replacing?
Misfires, hard starting, a no-start or rough running can have several causes. A burned, eroded or cracked rotor tip seen during inspection is a sign the rotor may need replacing, so diagnose the cause first.
Does this rotor replace other part numbers?
Yes. It cross-references numbers including 12-0234, E92Z12200C, F22018V05A, D747 and FA113, and the full list appears on the Interchange line of the description.
