Dial in ignition timing under light load with the Standard Ignition Distributor Vacuum Advance VC-200. This vacuum advance control uses engine vacuum acting on its diaphragm to advance the distributor's ignition timing during cruise and part-throttle conditions, then returns as load and vacuum change. It drops in as a direct-fit replacement across a wide run of early-1970s Ford and Mercury vehicles, including the 1972-1973 Ford Bronco, 1970-1974 Ford F-100, F-250 and F-350, 1971-1975 Ford E-100 Econoline, 1972-1974 Ford Gran Torino, Ranchero and Torino, 1972 Ford LTD and Galaxie 500, 1973-1974 Mercury Comet, and 1972-1974 Mercury Montego — see the Buyer's Guide tab for the full list of applications.

  • Precision calibrated: set to deliver the correct ignition advance for the application.
  • Leak-tested: each unit is tested at 30HG maximum vacuum to confirm it does not leak.
  • OE ignition heritage: built by a manufacturer serving the automotive aftermarket since 1919, with quality control maintained throughout production.

If a leaking or out-of-calibration vacuum advance is behind poor part-throttle timing or a sluggish, hesitant feel on your vehicle, this replaces it. Diagnose the cause before replacing.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the VC-200 vacuum advance do?

It uses engine vacuum on its diaphragm to advance the distributor's ignition timing during light-load and part-throttle driving, then returns as vacuum drops under load.

Will this fit my vehicle?

It's a direct-fit replacement for many early-1970s Ford and Mercury models, such as the 1970-1974 Ford F-100 and 1972-1974 Ford Torino. Check the Buyer's Guide tab for the complete list.

How is the unit tested?

Each unit is precision calibrated for the correct ignition advance and leak-tested at 30HG maximum vacuum to confirm the diaphragm does not leak.

What are signs the vacuum advance may need replacing?

A cracked or leaking diaphragm, poor timing response at part throttle, or hesitation can be signs. Diagnose the cause first, since other components can produce similar symptoms.

What numbers does this part interchange with?

It replaces V339, FV2034, VC2034, D2AF12370GA, D2AZ12370C, D2AZ12370G, D2UZ12370C and D3OZ12370C.
