Standard Ignition Engine Cooling Fan Switch P/N:TS-306

Keep the engine's cooling fan cycling on cue with the Standard Ignition Engine Cooling Fan Switch TS-306. It installs as a direct-fit replacement for the 1992-1994 Geo Metro [All] and 1992-1994 Suzuki Swift [All]. This thermal switch senses coolant temperature and, at its factory-calibrated set point, makes electrical contact to signal the fan controller.

  • Thermal actuation: custom wax formulations expand when heated to trigger a snap-action electrical contact and transfer the signal to the fan controller. The wax pellets are formed for the specified temperature range, then calibrated and tested to confirm actuation at the set point.
  • Bimetallic contact arm: movement comes from the different expansion rates of two fused metals — a creep-action design built for precise performance.
  • Plug-in connection: two male blade terminals in a single oval female connector, rated at 12 volts.
  • Metal housing with an 18MM x 2.0 thread; open at idle.

No wiring harness, mounting hardware, or bracket is included. If a faulty temperature switch is the cause of a fan that won't cycle properly, this unit replaces it. Country of origin: Taiwan.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the TS-306 cooling fan switch do?

It senses coolant temperature and, at its factory-calibrated set point, uses a wax-actuated snap contact to make an electrical connection that signals the fan controller.

Which vehicles does this switch fit?

It is a direct-fit replacement for the 1992-1994 Geo Metro [All] and 1992-1994 Suzuki Swift [All]. See the Buyer's Guide tab to confirm your vehicle.

What are signs this switch may need replacing?

A cooling fan that won't turn on with a rising temperature, or one that runs constantly, can be a sign. Diagnose the cause first, since other components can produce the same symptoms.

Is a wiring harness or mounting hardware included?

No. The switch ships without a wiring harness, mounting hardware, or a mounting bracket.

What are the switch's connection specs?

It has two male blade terminals in a single oval female connector, is rated at 12 volts, and uses an 18MM x 2.0 thread. It is open at idle.
