Standard Ignition HVAC Blower Motor Resistor P/N:RU-229
Designed to restore variable-speed control of your A/C and heater blower, the Standard Ignition Blower Motor Resistor RU-437 is a direct-fit replacement for the listed application, the 1997-1999 Acura CL. It controls the current sent to the blower motor so each fan-speed setting on the climate control can run the blower at its intended speed.
How it works: The resistor steps down the voltage reaching the blower motor on the lower fan settings, which is what gives the heater and A/C more than one fan speed.
Signs this part may need replacing: the blower runs only on its highest setting, or one or more fan speeds stop working. A switch, wiring, or motor fault can cause similar symptoms, so diagnose the cause first. If a failed resistor is the cause, RU-437 replaces it.
Fitment: 1997-1999 Acura CL. See the Buyer's Guide tab for engine details.

What vehicles does the Standard Ignition RU-437 fit?
It is listed for the 1997-1999 Acura CL. See the Buyer's Guide tab for engine-level fitment details.
What does an HVAC blower motor resistor do?
It controls how much current reaches the blower motor. This sets the fan speed for the heater and A/C on each switch setting.
What are signs the blower motor resistor may need replacing?
Common signs are a blower that works only on the highest setting, or one or more fan speeds that don't work. A switch, wiring, or motor fault can cause similar symptoms, so diagnose the cause first.
Why does the RU-437 use copper connectors?
Standard Ignition uses premium copper electrical connectors for more precise resistance values. They are designed to improve resistor performance and deliver a longer part life.
Which part numbers does the RU-437 interchange with?
It cross-references 79330SF1941, RU1130, JA1856 and BR340.
