Standard Ignition Ignition Coil P/N:UC-15
Help keep a strong spark reaching the plugs with the Standard Ignition Ignition Coil, part number UC-14 (also written UC14). An ignition coil steps up the vehicle's low battery voltage to the high voltage the ignition system needs to fire the spark plugs. It fits many vehicles, among them the 1953-1955 Ford F-250 3.5L / 3.6L / 3.9L / 4.2L / 4.4L, the 1943-1957 Jeep Willys with the L4-2.2L and the 1953-1955 Ford Club 3.5L / 3.6L / 3.7L / 3.9L / 4.2L / 4.4L. See the "Vehicles it fits" section for the full list of vehicles and engines.
Signs a coil may need replacing: engine misfire, hard starting, a no-start with no spark, stalling, or hesitation under load. Other ignition or fuel faults can cause the same symptoms, so diagnose the system before you replace the coil. If a failed coil is the cause, UC-14 replaces it.
What does an ignition coil do?
It converts the battery's low voltage into the high voltage the ignition system needs to fire the spark plugs. Without that high-voltage output, the engine cannot make spark.
