Standard Ignition Neutral Safety Switch P/N:NS-365
Help keep the starter from engaging while the vehicle is in gear with the Standard Ignition Neutral Safety Switch, part number NS-129. It is designed to let the starting circuit close only when the transmission is in Park or Neutral. It fits many vehicles, among them the 1997-2014 Ford F-150, 1997-2010 Ford Explorer and 1997-1999 Ford F-250, as a direct-fit replacement for the listed applications. See the "Vehicles it fits" section for the full list.
A neutral safety switch senses the gear-selector position and tells the starting system whether the engine may crank. It may need replacing if the engine cranks in Neutral but not in Park, will not crank at all, or starts only intermittently. Diagnose the starting circuit first, because other components can cause the same symptoms.
