Standard Ignition Secondary Air Injection Pump P/N:AIP53
Standard Ignition AIP10 secondary air injection pump for the 1998-1999 Chevrolet C1500 V8 5.7L and other vehicles pumps fresh air into the exhaust to help the emissions system burn off unburned fuel. It is a new pump with hose and electrical connections for the secondary air system.
A check engine light with a secondary air system code, a loud whine, or no pump noise at a cold start can mean the pump is failing. Before replacing it, look at the air hoses and wiring connectors with the engine off and cool for cracks, damage or corrosion, since a leak or a bad connection there could be behind the same code.
This secondary air injection pump also fits the 1998-1999 Chevrolet K1500 V8 5.7L and the 1998-2000 Chevrolet Tahoe V8 5.7L. Each vehicle takes one.
