This solenoid controls the flow of fuel vapor from the charcoal canister to the engine intake, where the stored vapor is drawn in and burned. Standard Ignition catalogs CP492 for the right-side position.

A check engine light with EVAP-related codes, a rough idle, or hard starting right after refueling can be signs that a purge solenoid may need replacing. These symptoms can have other causes, so diagnose the system first. If a failed purge solenoid is the cause, CP492 replaces it.
