A steering tie rod end is the pivoting link between the tie rod and the steering knuckle, and it carries steering movement to the wheel. Signs it may need replacing include loose or wandering steering, a clunk when turning, uneven tire wear, or a torn boot. A wheel alignment is recommended after installation.
