Description

Tighten up your steering and keep the wheels tracking true with the Mevotech TTX Suspension Ball Joint (TXK80008), a front upper ball joint built for high-usage passenger vehicles, SUVs, fleets and working trucks. It installs as a direct-fit replacement for the 2002-2005 Ford Explorer, 2003-2005 Lincoln Aviator, and 2002-2005 Mercury Mountaineer — see the Buyer's Guide tab for engine-level fitment.

Maximum toughness: patented sintered bearings are designed for longer-lasting performance under load.
Superior seal: the Integri-Boot design built into the assembly helps lock out moisture and contaminants.
Simple to service: includes 180-degree and 90-degree SAE grease fittings for easy greasing.
Quick installation: secures to the vehicle with the part-specific slotted castle nut and snap cotter pin provided, and presses into the larger flange diameter for an accurate fit.

An application-specific ball stud with a larger sphere, a thicker, stronger flange to resist deformation during installation, pre-applied nylok thread adhesive, and knurling for a snugger fit round out the design. Worn ball joints can show up as clunking on bumps, loose or wandering steering, and uneven tire wear — if the front upper ball joint is the cause, this replaces it.
