Description

Keep the back end planted and control body motion with the KYB Excel-G Suspension Strut 334230, a rear gas strut built to restore your vehicle's designed ride control, stability, and handling. It's a direct-fit replacement for the 1997-1998 Chevrolet Malibu and 1997-1998 Oldsmobile Cutlass (see the Buyer's Guide tab for engine-level fitment).

The Excel-G is KYB's OEA (Original Equipment for the Aftermarket) line, made on the same KYB OE assembly lines with OE-quality components and calibrated to restore original performance rather than change it.

Nitrogen gas-charged, twin-tube design that includes the same quality components found in KYB's global OEM products.
Triple-lip fluid seal to reduce the chance of oil and gas leaking out.
Vehicle-specific, hand-assembled damping valves that manage tire contact, steering response, and body movement.
Thick strut bodies and brackets that minimize flex to help maintain correct alignment.

KYB recommends installing new strut mounts (part number SM5145) and protecting your struts with a KYB Strut Boot (part number SB101). Struts wear in pairs, so replacing both sides together is the best practice for balanced ride control.
