Alternator for 1987-1989 Jeep Wrangler & More - TERREPOWER N7294-12

Help keep the battery charged and the electrical system supplied with the TERREPOWER (formerly BBB Industries) Alternator N7294-12, a premium-quality new alternator designed for dependability and reliability. It is listed as a direct-fit replacement for many models, among them the 1987-1989 Jeep Wrangler 4.2L, 1983-1986 Jeep Cherokee 2.5L or 4.2L and 1983-1985 Chevrolet Impala 3.8L or 4.3L.

• Output: 12-volt DC with a 94-amp rating and negative ground.
• Regulation: Internal regulator. It is not one-wire capable, has no AC service tap and is not brushless.
• Pulley and fan: Comes with a conventional single-groove V-belt pulley with a 64 mm (2-1/2 in) outside diameter. It is not a decoupled or clutch pulley. An external fan is included for air cooling, and rotation is clockwise (right).
• Family and orientation: 12SI family, with Delco/Delphi listed as the OE manufacturer. Viewed from the rear with the main mounting ear at 6 o'clock, the plug sits at the 12 o'clock position.

The engine's V-belt turns the alternator through its pulley. The alternator uses that rotation to produce the current that recharges the battery and powers the vehicle's electrical loads while the engine runs. Listed engines are L4-2.0L, L4-2.5L, L6-4.2L, V6-2.8L, V6-3.0L, V6-3.8L, V6-4.3L, V8-5.0L, V8-6.2L and V8-7.4L, with one alternator per listed application.
