TERREPOWER formerly BBB Industries Rack and Pinion Assembly P/N:313-0218
TERREPOWER 313-0211 rack and pinion for the 2005-2010 Kia Sportage and other vehicles turns steering wheel rotation into the side-to-side motion that steers the wheels. It is a remanufactured hydraulic power steering unit, also called a rack and pinion assembly.
Heavy or loose steering, a groan when you turn, or fluid around the rack can mean it is wearing out. With the engine off and cool, look over the hoses and fittings for wet fluid first, since a leak there can look like a bad rack, and find the cause before replacing it. A shop can test the system under pressure.
The 2005-2009 Hyundai Tucson and the 2005-2010 Kia Sportage both take one rack and pinion.
