Keep drive torque flowing smoothly to the rear wheel with this TrakMotive cv axle, part number GM-8280, cataloged for the rear left position. It is a direct-fit replacement for the listed applications: the 2010-2017 Chevrolet Equinox (All) and the 2010-2017 GMC Terrain (All). Each listed application uses one of this axle.
A CV axle transfers power from the drive unit to the wheel hub. Its constant-velocity joints let the shaft keep turning through changing angles as the suspension moves. This premium-grade TrakMotive cv axle shaft comes with its axle nut, so the hub end can be secured with the supplied hardware.
- Joint connections: Male inboard connection with 34 splines. Conventional outboard joint with 30 splines.
- Axle nut included: Self-locking hex nut with an M24x2 thread, a 36 mm (1.4 in) hex that takes a 36 mm socket, a 23 mm height, and a 41 mm length.
- Protective boots: Neoprene boots on both the inboard and outboard joints.
- Compressed length: 29.96 in (761 mm) overall.
An ABS tone ring is not included. Signs a CV axle may need replacing include clicking or popping when turning, vibration under acceleration, and grease around a torn boot. If a worn axle is the cause, this assembly replaces it.
