A universal joint links driveshaft sections and yokes, and it flexes so torque keeps flowing as driveline angles change with suspension travel. Depending on the application, the UJ254 is cataloged for front, rear and center joints on the front and rear shafts, and for front and rear joints on the intermediate shaft. Signs a u-joint may need replacing include a clunk when shifting into gear, driveline vibration, or a squeak while rolling.
