Walker Products Engine Variable Valve Timing (VVT) Solenoid P/N:590-1157
Walker Products 590-1098 variable timing solenoid for the 2008-2014 Volkswagen Jetta 5-cylinder 2.5L and other vehicles regulates oil flow to the camshaft phasing system. Also called an engine variable timing solenoid, it adjusts valve timing to suit driving conditions.
A VVT solenoid can clog, stick open or closed, or fail electrically, which can show up as codes P0010-P0014 or P0020-P0024, rough idle, hesitation or reduced power. Before you replace the solenoid, rule out the oil level and condition, the wiring and other timing parts, since these signs have more than one source.
As an OE replacement solenoid, it also fits the 2012-2014 Volkswagen Passat 5-cylinder 2.5L and the 2010-2014 Volkswagen Golf 5-cylinder 2.5L, along with a wide range of other Audi and Volkswagen models.
