Walker Products Oxygen Sensor P/N:250-24275
Walker Products 250-24363 oxygen sensor for the 1999-2001 Mazda Protege 4-cylinder 1.6L sends exhaust oxygen feedback to the engine computer. This Walker Products oxygen sensor is built for its downstream position and measures combustion efficiency from the oxygen in the exhaust gas.
A failing oxygen sensor can show up as rough running, higher fuel use or a malfunction indicator light, though a fault elsewhere can produce those too. Before replacing it, look the sensor, wiring harness and connector over for physical damage with the engine off and cool.
It is a direct-fit replacement for the 1999-2001 Mazda Protege 4-cylinder 1.6L, which takes one downstream sensor.

Is this Protege oxygen sensor a fit for the 1999-2001 Mazda Protege 4-cylinder 1.6L?
Yes. Walker Products 250-24363 is a direct-fit downstream oxygen sensor for the 1999-2001 Mazda Protege 4-cylinder 1.6L, and that engine takes one.
Is the 250-24363 a narrow-band oxygen sensor?
Yes. Walker Products 250-24363 is a narrow-band, 4-wire oxygen sensor with an M18 - 1.5 thread.
What does the platinum coating on this oxygen sensor do?
The electrodes are made of a gas-permeable platinum layer. The coating protects the electrode surfaces from contamination and erosion by combustion residue and particulates in the exhaust gases.
Is this an upstream or downstream oxygen sensor?
It is a downstream sensor. Every Walker Products part number is made for its specific application and fitment position, so this one is not an upstream unit.
Can a bad oxygen sensor turn on the check engine light?
It can. A failed sensor can light the malfunction indicator light, and newer vehicles store fault codes in the ECU, some of which relate to the sensor and its systems.
