Dorman - OE Solutions Window Regulator P/N:740-642
If a failed regulator is why your rear left window is slow, stuck or slipping, this Dorman window regulator, part number 740-688, replaces it without the need for a rivet gun. It is a direct-fit replacement for the rear left door of the 1998-2011 Lincoln Town Car.
The original equipment regulator is riveted in place, and replacing it calls for a specialized rivet gun. This Dorman OE FIX version attaches with threaded hardware instead, which speeds up installation and saves time and labor cost. It is a power window regulator only. The window motor is not included.
A window regulator is the mechanism inside the door that raises and lowers the glass as the power window motor drives it. Signs it may need replacing include glass that moves slowly, stops partway, tilts or drops into the door, and grinding or clicking noises from inside the door when you operate the window. A faulty motor or switch can cause similar symptoms, so diagnose the cause before replacing the regulator. This Dorman OE Solutions window regulator is cataloged for the rear left position. See the Buyer's Guide tab for full fitment details.
