Wix 42809 air filter for the 2022 Peterbilt 579 6-cylinder 8.9L and other vehicles filters dust from the intake air before it reaches the engine. This Wix air filter is a corrugated style primary air filter of the HD duty type.
A clogged air filter can show up as dirt packed into the pleats, sluggish acceleration or higher fuel use, and those signs can have other causes. With the engine off and cool, look at the pleats and end caps for packed dirt, tears or damage, and find the cause of a performance complaint before replacing the filter.
Fits include the 2022 Peterbilt 579 6-cylinder 8.9L. It is also a Freightliner M2 106 air filter for the 2002-2007 model with the 6-cylinder 7.2L, and it fits the 2014-2020 Freightliner B2 6-cylinder 6.7L. Open the "Vehicles it fits" section to check your exact model and engine.
