Four Seasons A/C Accumulator P/N:83227
Keep moisture and debris out of your A/C system with the Four Seasons A/C Accumulator, MPN 33182. It installs as a direct-fit replacement for the 1984-1990 Ford Bronco II, 1991 Ford Explorer, 1983-1993 Ford Ranger, and 1991 Mazda Navajo. See the Buyer's Guide tab for engine-level detail on your specific vehicle.
The accumulator / filter drier sits on the low-pressure side and acts as a filter, removing moisture and contaminants from the air conditioning system. Because those contaminants cannot be removed by flushing, replacing the accumulator / filter drier when the system is serviced is essential.
Replacing the accumulator / filter drier is required to validate compressor warranty and should be done anytime the system is serviced.
What does this A/C accumulator do?
It acts as a filter on the low-pressure side, using a desiccant to remove moisture and contaminants from the air conditioning system that flushing cannot remove.
Does it come with the seals I need?
Yes. The necessary gaskets, o-rings and seal are included for easier installation.
Does this fit my vehicle?
It fits the 1984-1990 Ford Bronco II, 1991 Ford Explorer, 1983-1993 Ford Ranger, and 1991 Mazda Navajo. Check the Buyer's Guide tab to confirm your engine.
Why replace the accumulator when servicing the A/C?
Replacement is required to validate compressor warranty and should be done anytime the system is serviced, since a saturated desiccant bag makes the unit ineffective.
How does it absorb moisture?
Moisture is absorbed through a desiccant bag inside the unit; a leaking or open system can saturate that bag within a few hours.
