Why replacement matters: Flushing cannot remove the contaminants the drier filters out of the system, so replacing the drier is essential. If the system leaks or is left open, the desiccant bag can become saturated within a few hours, making the drier ineffective. Four Seasons states that the drier must be replaced any time the system is serviced, and that replacement is required to validate the compressor warranty.
