It acts as a filter in the A/C system, removing moisture and contaminants that flushing can't clear, which is why replacing the drier is essential whenever the system is opened or serviced.

Aluminum construction: an aluminum filter drier supplied without a pad mount.
Desiccant absorption: a desiccant bag absorbs moisture; a leaking or open system can saturate the bag within a few hours and leave the drier ineffective, so install it into a properly sealed, evacuated system.
