This application-specific kit is a direct replacement for the front outer position on the 1986-1995 Toyota 4Runner, 1986-1995 Toyota Pickup, 1993-1998 Toyota T100, and 1987-1989 Toyota Van. A CV boot seals grease around the outer joint and shields it from dirt and water; a cracked or torn boot lets grease escape and contamination in, which is why a replacement kit like this restores that protective seal when the original boot has failed.
