A CV boot keeps grease in and dirt and moisture out of the joint. A torn or cracked boot slings grease and exposes the joint to contamination, which can lead to clicking and accelerated wear; if a damaged boot is the cause, this kit replaces it. Note: this kit is not intended for installation tools that stretch the small end of the boot over the CV joint.
