The catalog lists this sensor for the downstream position (also listed as downstream front). A switching-type oxygen sensor sends air-fuel-ratio feedback to the ECU. In the downstream position it reads the exhaust after the catalytic converter, and the ECU uses that signal to monitor converter operation.
