CARDONE Reman Power Steering Pump P/N:21-5394
A1 CARDONE 21-5861 power steering pump for the 1998-2001 Isuzu Trooper and other vehicles assists the steering with hydraulic pressure. This remanufactured A1 CARDONE power steering pump is built for a remote reservoir.
A whining noise, stiff steering or fluid seepage at the pump can mean it is wearing out. Before you replace it, rule out binding steering components, debris in the flow control valve and contaminated fluid, since each can produce similar symptoms.
The vehicles it fits include the 1998-2001 Isuzu Trooper, the 1999-2001 Isuzu Vehicross and the 1998-2000 Chevrolet LUV.

The inlet is a barb with a 0.56 in (14.224 mm) inlet diameter. The outlet is threaded at 16x1.5, and the hose port type is O-ring.
My old pulley fits loosely on the new pump shaft. What should I do?
The pulley may have cracked on removal, or its bore may have enlarged if the old shaft was mushroomed before the pulley came off. In that case the pulley must be replaced.
Why do I only get steering assist at higher engine rpm after installing a replacement pump?
Debris in the flow control valve bore, behind the high pressure fitting, can keep the valve from moving as it should. The system must be checked for contamination and flushed.
