Cloyes Engine Timing Chain Kit P/N:9-0708SB
Cloyes 9-0708S timing chain kit for the 2001-2008 Ford Escape V6 3.0L and other vehicles connects the crankshaft to the camshaft so valve timing stays in step. It comes with the chain, sprockets, tensioners and guides the application calls for, so the timing system is replaced as one set.
A rattle from the front of the engine at start-up, rough running or a timing-related check engine light can mean a stretched chain or worn guides and tensioners. These signs alone do not prove the chain kit is at fault, since a failing camshaft position sensor can set similar codes.
The 2001-2008 Ford Escape V6 3.0L, the 2001-2005 Ford Taurus V6 3.0L and the 2001-2006 Mazda Tribute V6 3.0L all take this kit, along with many other vehicles. If your car is not named here, look up its year and engine in the "Vehicles it fits" section.
