MOOG Chassis Products Suspension Control Arm and Ball Joint Assembly P/N:RK621551
MOOG RK8708 front left upper control arm with ball joint for the 1998-2011 Ford Ranger and other vehicles holds the front left wheel in place as the suspension moves. The arm pivots on its bushings at the chassis end and on the ball joint at the wheel end.
A worn control arm or ball joint can show up as a clunk over bumps or uneven front tire wear. Those signs alone do not prove this part is the problem; a worn tie rod end can cause similar play in the steering.
As a MOOG upper control arm, it also fits the 1995-2001 Ford Explorer and the 1998-2010 Mazda B4000. This listing is one MOOG control arm for the front left; the front right upper arm is a separate part, and the two are normally replaced together.

Is the RK8708 a Ford Explorer control arm for model years 1995-2001?

Does this control arm and ball joint assembly include the bushings and hardware?
Yes. This assembly comes with the ball joint, bushings and mounting hardware. A grease fitting is not included.
What are the MOOG control arm bushings on RK8708 made of?
The bushings on MOOG RK8708 are rubber, and the arm is forged steel. The ball joint mounts by press-in and has a pinch stud.
How can I tell if a front upper control arm is wearing out?
Loose or wandering steering, a clunk over bumps or cracked rubber on a bushing can point to wear. A shop can check ball joint play, so have a suspect suspension part looked at promptly.
Does the ball joint on RK8708 need greasing?
No. This ball joint has a sealed socket for maintenance-free operation, and the assembly comes pre-greased.
