Dayco Engine Harmonic Balancer P/N:PB1686N
Dayco PB6312N harmonic balancer for the 1964-1965 Ford Mustang 6-cylinder 2.8L, the 1964-1967 Mustang 6-cylinder 3.3L and other vehicles damps crankshaft vibration at the front of the engine. The Dayco harmonic balancer sits on the nose of the crankshaft and carries the pulley for the drive belt.
Cracks in the hub or ring, timing marks that have worn away, a squealing belt or vibration from the front of the engine can mean a worn engine harmonic balancer. These signs alone do not prove the balancer is at fault, since a tired drive belt can make similar noise.
This balancer is listed for a wide range of Ford and Mercury models, including the 1967-1972 Ford Bronco 6-cylinder 2.8L and the 1971-1972 Mercury Comet 6-cylinder 2.8L. One balancer goes on each engine.
