It drops in as a direct-fit rear replacement for the 1941-1942 Nash Ambassador 600, the 1939-1942 and 1946-1953 Studebaker Champion, and the 1951-1953 Studebaker Commander (All engines). Mounted in the rear drum brake assembly, the wheel cylinder converts hydraulic brake-fluid pressure into the mechanical force that pushes the brake shoes outward against the drum. If a leaking, seized, or worn cylinder is the cause of a soft pedal, fluid seepage, or uneven rear braking, this replaces it.
