Dorman - OE Solutions Suspension Control Arm and Ball Joint Assembly P/N:520-520
Refresh worn front suspension with the Dorman control arm with ball joint, part number 520-782. This front right lower assembly directly replaces the original on the 1993-1998 Volkswagen Jetta, 1993-1999 Volkswagen Golf and 1995-2002 Volkswagen Cabrio. It arrives with the ball joint and bushings already installed, which saves time and labor on the job.
The control arm links the steering knuckle to the chassis, and the ball joint lets the knuckle pivot as the suspension moves and the wheel steers. Clunking over bumps, loose or wandering steering, or uneven tire wear can come from a worn arm, ball joint or bushing. If one of these is the cause, this assembly replaces all three in one piece. It is sold individually, and replacing both sides together is recommended for balanced handling. See the Buyer's Guide tab for engine details.

What does the Dorman suspension control arm and ball joint assembly do?
It connects the steering knuckle to the chassis so the wheel can move up and down, while the ball joint lets the knuckle pivot for steering. The bushings help isolate road vibration.
Is this 1993-1998 Volkswagen Jetta control arm for the front right lower position?
Yes. It is cataloged as the front right lower arm for the 1993-1998 Volkswagen Jetta. See the Buyer's Guide tab for the other listed Volkswagen models.
What comes pre-installed on this part?
Dorman supplies it with the ball joint and bushings already installed, which helps save time and labor during installation.
What are signs the control arm may need replacing?
Common signs include clunking over bumps, loose or wandering steering, uneven tire wear, and a torn ball joint boot or cracked bushings. Diagnose the cause first, since other suspension parts can cause similar symptoms.
Is a wheel alignment needed after installation?
An alignment check is generally recommended after replacing a control arm. Consult the vehicle service information for the correct fasteners and torque values, and for whether the original hardware may be reused.
