Keep moisture and contaminants out of your air conditioning system with the Four Seasons A/C Receiver Drier / Filter Drier, part number 33391. This steel filter drier is listed under both names. It fits many vehicles, among them the 1972-1979 Ford Ranchero, 1978-1979 Ford Thunderbird and 1978 Ford LTD II, as a direct-fit replacement for the listed applications. See the Buyer's Guide tab for the full list.

  • Filters the A/C system: The drier removes moisture and contaminants from the air conditioning system. Flushing cannot remove these contaminants.
  • Desiccant bag: A high-quality desiccant bag absorbs moisture in the system. On a leaking or open system, the bag can become saturated within a few hours, and the drier then stops working.
  • Welded steel body: Quality welds give it a durable, leak-free design.
  • Installation seals included: The necessary gaskets, O-rings and seal come with the drier for easier installation.
  • Certified production: It is made in an ISO/TS16949 and ISO14001 certified facility and backed by more than 50 years of Four Seasons mobile A/C experience.

A saturated drier can no longer absorb moisture. For that reason, Four Seasons states that the receiver drier must be replaced anytime the A/C system is serviced, and that replacing it is required to validate the compressor warranty. If you are opening the system to replace a compressor or another component, install this Four Seasons receiver drier as part of that service.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the 33391 A/C receiver drier / filter drier do?

It filters the A/C system. A desiccant bag absorbs moisture, and the drier removes contaminants that flushing cannot remove.

Is this part also called a filter drier?

Yes. It is cataloged as an A/C receiver drier, and Four Seasons describes the 33391 as a steel filter drier, so it is listed under both names.

What comes in the box?

Four Seasons includes the necessary gaskets, O-rings and seal with the drier for easier installation.

When should the receiver drier be replaced?

Four Seasons states it must be replaced anytime the A/C system is serviced, and that replacement is required to validate the compressor warranty. An open or leaking system can saturate the desiccant bag within a few hours.
